Fukui Spring Festival: Echizen Jidai Gyoretsu (April 29)
Led by a musical band and a group of dancers, about 1,100 people featuring men dressed in warriors' costumes parade through the city. Lord Shibata Katsuie, and Oichi-no- kata by Miss Fukui take the leading parts followed by warriors who are disguised as historical heroes in Fukui. In April, the cherry blossoms in Mt. Asuwa-yama and along the banks of the Asuwa-gawa River are lit up at night.
