Tachimachi-misaki Cape
You can see the Shimokita Peninsula from this steep cliff where it would be a perfect setting for enka (Japanese popular ballads). Along the path to the edge of the cliff are monuments inscribed with songs written by renowned authors.
Take the trolley to Yachigashira and walk 20 min.
Takuboku Park
This park is situated near Omori Beach along Route 278 on the coastal highway that connects Hakodate Airport and the city. The beautiful coast line and Mt. Hakodate-yama in the shape of a lying cow can be seen from here. In the park is a statue of Takuboku (1886 - 1912 renowned poet and novelist) with his right hand on his cheek and a monument with inscriptions of his song.
9-min. ride on the city bus. Get off at Takuboku Sho-koen-mae.
Onuma Quasi National Park
Fresh greenery and the sublime beauty of Mt. Koma-ga-take's reflection on the water has claimed its status as one of Japan's three new scenic beauties.
