Hirosaki City Sightseeing Information Center

Hirosaki's hotel, flight, and sightseeing information is provided by laser disc. A display of an 8 meter-high neputa float, an exhibit and store of local crafts, and a restaurant serving local cuisine are all part of this information center. A section of the museum is dedicated to the exhibit of neputa including the prefecture's 7 festival floats. Also in the museum premises is the Local Literature Museum where works of Aomori-born prominent novelists such as Dazai Osamu and Ishizaka Yojiro are introduced.

Missionaries' House

Former Hirosaki City Library and Former To-o Gijuku Missionaries' House

The three-storied Renaissance-style building of the Former Hirosaki City Library is characterized by its two octagonal towers, white exterior walls, green window frames, and red roof. Built in 1906, the building had been used as a library until 1931 and is now open to the public. The adjacent Former To-o Gijuku Missionaries' House was built for the foreign missionary invited by the prefecture's first private school To-o Gijuku. Remnants of the life spent in this resident can be seen today. Both the library and the residence were designed by Horie Sakichi.

Hirosaki City Museum

Located within Hirosaki Park, this museum has exhibits of the Tsugaru region's historical references and crafts as well as feature displays.

Archaeological Museum Kokokan (located in Fujita Memorial Park)

The view of the distant Mt. Iwaki-san is incorporated into the Fujita Memorial Japanese Garden known for its beautiful azalea and iris blooms. The Archaeological Museum, which is located in this garden, is housed in a brick building that used to be a warehouse. The exhibits include archaeological references and valuable articles found beneath the Tsugaru area.
