Yuiitsushinmeizukuri
The construction method used in Ise Jingu is called the yuiitsushinmeizukuri, a unique architectural style said to be the purest and simplest style of Shinto architecture. This method has been carried on for centuries. Only minimum metal fittings are used to hold together the cypress beams and pillars. Only straight lines are used in this technique. The floor is more than 2.5 meters hight and the top of the building rises to more than 10 meters.
