Thrilling hanging bridge at Jo-ga-saki Coast

This bridge can be found at the magnificent Rias coast which was formed from the lava of Mt. Amagi-san. Pluck up your courage and view the Oshima Island from this thrilling 23-meter-high and 48-meter-long bridge. It is also possible to view Oshima from the 9 kilometer hiking course which passes by the Kadowaki-todai (light house).

Ippeki-ko

Lake Ippeki-ko is a gourd shaped lake and is also known as "the Eye of Izu"

Lake Ippeki-ko is the largest lake in the Izu Peninsula with a 4 kilometer circumference. It's secondary name, "the Eye of Izu" comes from a Japanese expression based on the fact that the lake reflects the seasonal beauty of Mt. Amagi-san on the surface of its water.

Mt. Omuro-yama, a symbol of Izu Kogen Heights

Mt. Omuro-yama is located 581 meters above sea level and is completely covered with grass. The mountain is shaped like an up-side-down traditional Japanese soup bowl. After taking the lift to the top, you will see a large volcanic crater. You can also enjoy viewing a 360 degree panoramic view of Izu Shichito Islands, Amagi mountain ranges, and Mt. Fuji-san from this vantage point.

Omuro-yama

Enjoy off season cherry blossoms at Sakura-no-sato (Cherry Blossom Village)

At the foot of Mt. Omuro-yama, there are over 3,000 cherry trees of 35 different species. Here, the cherry trees blossom from mid September to May. You can also enjoy other gorgeous flowers blooming such as rape of spring, hemerocalis of summer and cosmos of autumn.

Azaleas and camellias are in full bloom at Komuro-yama Koen Park

A thousand different kinds of camellias for a total number of 4,000 plants have been collected from other countries. These camellias will bloom from October through April at this 15,000 square meter park, Komuro-yama Koen. In May, this park is covered with 10,000 flowering azaleas.
