Iwaki Art MuseumThis museum exhibits 1,400 pieces of art including the works of artists such as Picasso and Chagall. It also includes works by local Japanese artists. The museum holds a special event twice a year. Its pop art collection is the one of best in Japan. Iwaki Coal and Fossil Museum (Yumoto)This museum exhibits the history of the Joban coal mine and a formation of the earth. There is also a reproduction of the coal mine where visitors can go down a 600-meter shaft by escalator. There is an another display of a residential house used by coal workers. Nakoso-no-seki Museum of Literature and HistoryNakoso-no-seki (a barrier) was become known by Minamoto Yoshiie, who was a general during the part of the Heian period (794 -1185) and wrote a poem about this place. There are also other panel displays of poets and writers besides Minamoto Yoshiie.
