Uno ChiyoIwakuni is the hometown of the famous woman writer Uno Chiyo, who wrote the "Ohan."She was born in 1897 in Iwakuni. After graduating from Iwakuni Woman's High School, she went to Tokyo, married, and wrote her first work, "Makeup Face," in Sapporo (her husband's work location). After this success, she wrote other works, which were also very popular. "Ohan," published in the late 1940s, is especially famous for the way she expressed the delicate feelings of a young woman. This story features the Kinati Bridge area, her hometown, and is considered her representative work. She passed away in June 1996, at the age of 98. |
