Senganen

Jumbo-mochi, one of the items on the menu, is several pieces of grilled dumpling pierced by two bamboo sticks with soy sauce or miso gravy poured over them.
In old days, samurai used to carry two swords, one long and the other short. They were called Jumbo-zashi or piercing swords. The look of the dumplings with the bamboo sticks are similar to the two swords, and that is where the name Jumbo-mochi came from.
