Kaga Hyakuman-goku Festival (June 13 - 15) A major event held to commemorate the appointment of the Kaga clan's founder Maeda Toshiie. The highlight of the festival is a parade held on June 15 which is when Toshiie is said to have moved into the castle in Kanazawa. A procession of men dressed in historic samurai outfits, Japanese lion dance performers, and Kaga basket carriages proceeds through the town. The festival is a continuous display of Kanazawa's culture and tradition, featuring Yuzen lantern offerings, a children's lantern parade, and a tea ceremony.
