Iwase
A traditional restaurant specializing in "Furai" or Kumagaya style okonomi-yaki (batter and cabbage is mixed with seafood and/or meat and cooked on a hot griddle). Iwase's okonomi-yaki has fine bread crumbs on its surface, giving the specialty a crispy texture. Their egg and meat okonomiyaki is only 350 yen. Other ingredients include vegetables, squid, and dried shrimp. The restaurant is small and is run by the owner's family. Stop in after a walk through Seikei-en Garden.

Shichiri-ya
This restaurant is your rare opportunity to try homemade spaghetti processed on an Italian pasta machine and bacon cured for one week. 90 percent of their ingredients for sauces, yogurt, cake, and dressing are made at the restaurant. Absolutely no preservatives or additives are used in their cooking. Yet their spaghetti is only 500 yen. And if you can finish two or three servings, they will give you extra portions for free. According to the chef, Mr. Nishida, this service is "to satisfy the appetite of young male students." Hungry students flock to this restaurant.
