Ceramic Art Center, Mashiko
Located on a hill, the Ceramic Art Center serves as a cultural exchange facility for kilns in Mashiko and potters throughout the nation. The massive premises consists of a lawn, a modern print gallery, and a workshop equipped with wheels where visitors can make and decorate their own pot. The former home and kiln of the late potter Hamada Shoji has been moved to this location and is disclosed to the public.

The Museum of Pottery Kilns
This small-scale museum of kilns used for pottery is located at the top of a hill. The exhibit consists of ten different kilns from ancient wood-fire kilns used in the Jomon era (circa 10,000 B.C. - circa 300 B.C.) to state-of-the-art devices with computerized temperature controls. The pottery reference room features special ceramic ware from Japan and abroad.
