Finger Habu (Snake)Leaves of the kuba plant is weaved into the shape of a snake. The women who worked the fields used to carry children in a large bamboo basket. The children played in the basket while the women worked, and once in a while mothers entertained the children by making toys out of material picked in the area. The finger habu is one of the children's favorites. If you stick your finger into the opening, the habu will not let go of your finger no matter how hard you tug on it. Spread the opening wide and loosen the body of the habu, and your finger will be released.
