King Sho Shin

King Sho Shin

In the 12th century a clan by the name of aji fought for power. Three aji men eventually gained power and was controlled by King Sho Hashi who ruled the southern region of the main island. After King Sho Hashi's death, there was a continuous outbreak of coups. Meanwhile power was passed on to the Second Sho Kingdom and King Sho Shin proved to be the most successful. Sho Shin stabilized the kingdom by forcing local rulers to move to his capital city of Shuri. He also created a class system identifiable by crowns and ornamental hairpins.
