Sunset 99 Live Sasebo

Sunset 99 Live Sasebo

(Planned for October 9)
For some time after World War II, jazz was flooding in the streets of Sasebo as a result of the American influence. This is an event to revive this boom. Many famous Japanese and foreign musicians take part in this event. This event is held at the Hizukushi Park overlooking the port. To see the sun setting behind the stage while listening to jazz is a pleasant experience.

Mikawachi Ware Market

The Mikawachi Ware Industry Museum displays the history, technology, and works of Mikawachi ware. You can buy ceramics from the shop adjacent to this museum. For those who want to buy these ceramics more cheaply, don't miss the Mikawachi Ware Market, held once a year in front of this museum around October 10. There are many street vendors where you can buy Mikawachi ware at a bargain price. This museum is also a satellite site of the Sekai Honoo No Hakurankai (World Ceramics Exposition), held from July 19 to October13 within Saga and Nagasaki prefectures. You should check the schedule to see when the fair will come to this museum.
