Saikai Pearl Sea Resort

This is a resort built on the theme of harmony between the sea, nature, and the local culture. It is located in Kashimae, a port on the mouth of Minami Kujuku. There is a dome theatre and an aquarium, where you can see the fish that live around Kujuku Islands. There is also a miniature model of a trading ship and a collection of canoes from around the world. There are also other facilities with the sea as its theme. You can eat in the resort restaurant or buy gifts at the marine goods shop.

The Miura-cho Church (Seishin Tenshudou)

This Catholic church was built in 1930 and stands near the Sasebo Station. It serves as an outside gate of Sasebo City. During World War II, the church was painted black in order to avoid the bombing. Today it has been repainted to its original color.

The Yorozu city parking lot in front of the city pier turns into a morning market from 3:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and is a popular spot among the citizens. Over 300 fish, seafood, vegetable, fruit, ceramic, and clothing shops crowd the parking lot. All the items are fresh in this market.

Mount Eboshi Sports Resort

The city of Sasebo is covered on one side by Mount Yumihari and on the other side by Mount Eboshi. Mount Eboshi is 568 meters high and you can see the Minami Kujuku Islands and all of the Saikai National Park from its peak. You can enjoy such amusements as go cart riding, bicycle riding, and sled riding. The most popular sport is the green grass skiing which can be enjoyed the whole year round.
