Kagura Masks

Kagura Masks

Camphor and paulownia wood is used for kagura masks.
Quite contrary to the colorful yokagura masks, the beauty of these masks lies in the natural wooden grain that suits any type of decor. Masks expressing faces of the fierce Tajikarao-no-mikoto who pried open the Ama-no-iwato door or a warm and comforting look on Ame-no-uzume-no-mikoto represent the art of this craft.
