Hatsue
Famous for the good Takachiho beef they serve. Juice from squeezed beer curd is mixed into the cattle feed which results in sweet and juicy beef. Grilling is done on your own, so you can have the meat done the way you like it.

Araragi-no-chaya
Started in the early Showa period (1926 - 1989), this restaurant gave birth to two Takachiho specialties:
grilled whole chicken and kappo-sake. The whole chicken is prepared by burying it in ashes underneath the charcoaled fire so that the juice stays intact. Kappo-sake is made by pouring sake into a bamboo cylinder and boiling it over fire. A touch of bamboo flavor adds special taste to the sake.
