Washi Paper Dolls, Sekishu Washi Paper

Sekishu Washi is non-bleached Japanese paper made of plants that grow in the Tsuwano area. Production developed as an industry that preoccupied the non-farming season and supported the clan's economy for a long time. Products include a wide variety of items such as bookmarks, postcards, stationery, Japanese paper dolls. The most popular among them is the paper used for calligraphy. The city is dotted with workshops where paper making could be experienced by visitors and related souvenir shops. A stop at each of these studios would be very interesting.

*Paper making could be experienced at Tsuwano Traditional Crafts (Shiroyama-shita, Tsuwano-cho / 0856-72-1518) and Traditional Sekishu Washi Kaikan (228 Oaza-machida Tsuwano-cho / 0856-72-1563). Washi products are available at Kitaya (530 Oaza-morimura, Tsuwano-cho / 0856-72-1136)
