Hori Tei-en, a Kaiyu style Japanese gardenThe residence of the Hori family, who was known as the mine king of the Chugoku region. The estate consists of a main building, a garden, and guest house. The garden with seasonal changes displayed by its plum blossom, cherry blossom, iris, and maple trees is beautiful. The Rakusan-so guest house is built based on shoin-zukuri which is a classic style of Japanese homes. Taikodani Inari Jinja Shrine with up to 1,045 torii gates.Halfway up Mt. Shiroyama (Tsuwano-jo Castle ruins), one can see a numerous line of vermilion color torii (shrine gates). In 1773 Tsuwano's seventh generation feudal lord Kamei Norisada had Taikodani Inari built to enshrine a share of the spirit worshipped at the Fushimi Inari in Kyoto.
