Some buildings with a Mediterranean atmosphere are dotted about on this artificial island. In one of the buildings, 'Port Europe,' six different attractions including an outdoor stunt show 'Viking Adventure' and a deep-sea simulation theater 'Seafari' can be enjoyed. There are also 'Kuroshio Market' with shops and restaurants and 'Park Pacific,' a small park with tropical atmosphere. The prefectural pavilion 'Wakayama Hall' has ample information on Wakayama. 40 min. by bus from JR Wakayama Station and Wakayama-shi Station, Nankai Dentetsu; get off at the last stop.

Kada Beach

Kada Beach

Young people and families crowd to this bathing beach in summer. As it is a sandy beach with a gentle slope from the water's edge, even small children may safely play. From April through June, you can enjoy clam-digging there.

Tomoga-shima

Tomoga-shima

Tomoga-shima is the general name for the islands offshore of Kada: Jino-shima, Tora-shima, Kami-shima, and Okino-shima. The center of leisure is on Tora-shima and Okino-shima, where fishing, camping, and sea bathing can be enjoyed. There is also a hiking course through the remains of batteries and barracks from the time it was a military fortress.

15 min. walk from Kada Station, Nankai Dentetsu to Kada Port, 25 min. in a ferryboat from the port to Tomoga-shima.
